Breast Cancer Hope
Breast cancer is something that affects each and every one of us, whether being female or male. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, behind lung cancer. In this video, it captures the empowerment of people coming out to support breast cancer. I found this video to be extremely touching since not only is my mom a survivor of breast cancer, but also my Nana and Aunt.
Videos such as this are crucial in raising awareness about breast cancer because it is the pictures like in this video that have such an impact on us. To see how many people are affected by breast cancer is truly astonishing. After attending numerous breast cancer walks in Boston over the years with my family, I have been able to see how both public opinion and public relations play a important role in finding a cure for breast cancer. It is through the commercials, fund raising, walks, and October being breast cancer awareness month that more people are donating money to find a cure for breast cancer.
The public is 100% affected by breast cancer. Whether it is someone’s grandmother, mother, aunt, or sister, breast cancer affects the public. Millions of dollars are raised every year to find a cure for breast cancer. In terms of public relations, breast cancer is at the forefront of health issues for women since every three minutes a women is diagnosed with breast cancer. That fact alone should be enough on why this matters to the public and the public’s opinion on what is being done to raise awareness.
This is the link for the video.
